Spoon Knight

The spoon Knight , also known as the Order of the spoon or spoon company was a 1527, already in 1525, founded the association in other sources Castle Mont Richer in the Swiss canton of Vaud (pays de Vaud) from an initial 60 Savoyard nobleman. First was the defection of the Duke of Savoy , Charles III. A goal, but only a wish. The next goal was to politically infiltrate the “Republic” of Geneva and then leave it to the Duke of Savoy as an offer of release. They wanted to “spoon out” Geneva like good food. This “here” goal was the reason for the identification mark spoon on the hat or around the neck on a gold chain. A wooden spoon was used for this purpose. Another decoration of the order was a white shirt pulled over the armor with the image of a spoon.

Although this association soon grew to 3,000 members, Geneva resisted after a few years with the help of Freiburg and Solothurn .

The spoon knights were not a knightly order in the classical sense.
