The Løvenvold cinema is a Grade II listed cinema in the Norwegian city of Alesund .

It is located in the eastern part of Ålesund city center on the island of Nørvøy at Løvenvoldgata 11 in a corner at the confluence of Løvenvoldgata with Storgata.

The cinema was built in 1923 by the then new city architect Øyvin Berg Grimnes and is still used as a cinema. The interior was designed by Paul Ansteinsson . The interior is decorated with frescoes depicting the medieval Norwegian ballad Villemann og Magnhild . Due to the ingress of water, a restoration was necessary, which was carried out in 2008/2009. The cinema has a total of 310 seats.

The cinema was municipal property and was threatened with closure several times. On January 1, 2014, it was privatized and taken over by Norsk Kino . The new operator created sales opportunities typical of the cinema, which fit into the style of the monument. At the same time, the cinema technology was renewed. In addition to new loudspeakers, 3D playback technology was also installed.
