Lü Gengsong ( Chinese  吕耿松 , Pinyin Lǚ Gěngsōng ), (born January 7, 1956 in Hangzhou ) is a Chinese civil rights activist and dissident writer.

Lü is a member of the banned Democratic Party of China . In his articles, Lü calls for political reforms and addresses corruption in the Chinese Communist Party .

Lüs was arrested on August 24, 2007 because of "attacks on the Communist Party" in his articles. The arrest was preceded by the disclosure of the detention of the critical Internet writer He Weihua in a mental hospital. In a petition around 180 intellectuals, activists and writers campaigned for the release of Lüs.

Five weeks after his arrest, Lü was also formally arrested on September 29, 2007. The police in the east Chinese city of Hangzhou named "incitement to undermine state power" as the reason for detention. The suspicion that the civil rights activist will be tried has been reinforced.
