history
Outsourcing
Originally the community was larger. However, it had to accept a number of territorial assignments in the past century before it was dissolved. On July 1, 1908, their area was reduced in size in favor of what was then the municipality of Hiddingsel . The other assignments benefited the city of Lüdinghausen, which on April 1, 1903, April 1, 1914, in 1929 and January 1, 1966 expanded its area to include parts of the rural community.
Incorporation
On July 1, 1969, the municipality of Lüdinghausen-Land was fully incorporated into the city of Lüdinghausen.
Kakesbeck Castle
The most famous building in the former community is Kakesbeck Castle in the Bechtrup farmers' association.
particularities
The street signs in the peasantry have a green background. The houses were renumbered a few years ago in an easy-to-understand order. This makes it easy, especially for non-residents, to find a specific address.
