LAHSO

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

LAHSO is an abbreviation from air traffic and stands for land and hold short operations (German: make short landing )

Applies to airports with intersecting runways . The LAHSO-authorized aircraft is cleared to land , but must have come to a stop in front of the crossing runway in order not to influence the traffic taking off there and to allow it to take off without conflict. The aircraft stopping in front of the runway is given clearance to cross the runway if the departing traffic on the crossing runway allows it.
