Christian Palm (born August 3, 1864 in Reifferscheidt ; † July 1, 1928 in Bad Nauheim ) was a German stenographer and system inventor.

Christian Palm was born on August 3, 1864 in Reifferscheidt . At the age of twenty he joined the Westphalian Foot Artillery Regiment No. 7 in Cologne and became vice sergeant and regimental clerk. After twelve years of service, he was taken over by the Cologne city administration. This was followed by the offices of senior city secretary and director of the office examination office. Palm died on July 1, 1928 in Bad Nauheim .

Palm was first a follower of the Arends shorthand and in 1896 brought out a textbook of the speech script according to Arends-Matschenz. Later Palm, like many other followers of Arends' shorthand, switched to the system of national stenography , in which he actively campaigned. In "1907" Palm published a draft agreement called "Deutsche Kurzschrift". This Palmsche “German shorthand” was introduced into the entire area of ​​Cologne's municipal administration in 1913, but in 1920 there was again freedom of writing. The last draft of Palm's shorthand was in March 1924, after the introduction of the German unified shorthand, the Palm's school was completely dissolved.
