LBC Radio (originally London Broadcasting Company ) is a private talk radio station from London . LBC was the first commercial radio station in the United Kingdom and began operating on October 8, 1973. The station is owned by Global Radio . The station gained notoriety, among other things, because the former chairman of the right-wing populist UKIP Nigel Farage moderated his own talk show on the station.

The sister station is LBC London News. This station broadcasts news, weather and traffic reports on medium wave and DAB.

LBC could initially only be heard on VHF in the greater London area , but gained listeners worldwide through its live stream and satellite transmission. The station slogan was initially "London's Biggest Conversation" and was then changed to "Leading Britain's Conversation" .

The station has been operating a YouTube channel since 2008.

In 2017 the station "The Nigel Farage Show" started. Through the distribution via web stream , especially in English-speaking countries and via youtube channel, Farage also receives calls from the USA and other countries.
