LLC2 is a home and learning computer designed by Gerd Maudrich. It could be ordered for the first time in radio amateur 3/85.

hardware

The hardware was significantly developed and offered significantly more possibilities. The ROM was 8 KByte, there were 2  PIOs and a CTC . It was expandable with a floppy disk drive. Most of the expansions were intended for the graphic display, with different expansion stages up to 512 × 256 pixels could be displayed in color.

software

Since no operating system was included (only a bootstrap loader ), the “SCCH Monitor” from the Studio Computer Club Halle established itself . In addition to BASIC interpreters, there was later an adapted CP / M , called CPL . It was largely compatible with the AC1 , which significantly expanded the range of software.

Contemporary reception

“LLC2 - the cost-effective alternative to industrial home computers. Technically mature single-board computer to build yourself for leisure and work. Program compatible with standard devices. Detailed building instructions ... "
