background

Isabelle Müller's mother was born in Vietnam in 1929. In the 1930s, she lived through a childhood and youth full of privation in her native Vietnam. As a girl, she was not allowed to go to school. In search of self-determination, she risked her life to get an education . In 1955 she left war-torn Vietnam. In her new home, France , she met with rejection and discrimination because of the color of her skin . Despite abject poverty, she raised her five children, prioritizing education as a great privilege . The life story of her mother Đậu Thị Cúc (Vietnamese name) has been processed by the foundation's founder Isabelle Müller in the book LOAN - From the life of a phoenix , and the foundation established in her memory.

The foundation works unselfishly . All employees work on a voluntary basis , they bear their own travel costs, which are incurred for the purpose of monitoring the aid projects. The remaining administrative costs are covered by the founder as a specific donation. Donated amounts are used in full for the aid projects without any deduction of administrative costs.

Project work

The northernmost mountain regions of Vietnam are difficult to access. The foundation was the first German foundation to accept this challenge and has been active there since 2016. Through its projects, the foundation improves the future prospects and quality of life of many children from ethnic minorities . After a personal assessment, the foundation, as a consumer foundation, can quickly accept and implement projects, such as the construction of kindergartens, schools and bedrooms. With the support of the Vietnamese government and the Vietnamese social authorities, the foundation personally supervises all projects on site.
