The LTC Winterthur is an established in 1905 Tennis Club from Winterthur in Switzerland .

history

LTC Winterthur was founded in 1905 and at that time had two different tennis courts. The LTC represents Lawn Tennis Club (English for Lawn Tennis Club ), despite the fact that the club has itself does not have a lawn. One place was at the baroque house , which is now in the city park, and the other place was on Bahnstrasse where the district building is today.

In 1925 one could use the tennis facility " Römerpark " on the Pflanzschulstrasse in Gastrecht, where one is still today. The complex was donated by the Winterthur art patron Oskar Reinhart and built by the architects Rittmeyer / Furrer (clubhouse) and Otto Froebel's heirs (gardens). In 1966 the tennis facility was donated to the Volkart Foundation . In 1997 the club itself took over a third of the facility, and in 2006 the other two thirds of the facility were bought by the Volkart Foundation . In 2006 LTC Winterthur provided NLA and NLB Interclub teams for women, but had to withdraw them for financial reasons.

In recent years the association has organized several NLA Interclub final round tournaments in the Römerpark. In 2015 the club competed in the interclub championships in the first division for men and in the second division for women.
