La Semaine de Suzette was a French girls' magazine that appeared from 1905 to 1960.

history

The first issue of the girls' magazine appeared on February 2, 1905. From the beginning, the target group was conservative and Christian-raised girls. The magazine contained short stories, comics and articles about, for example, doll clothes. During the Second World War from June 6, 1940 until May 30, 1946, there was no issue before the magazine was finally discontinued in 1960.

The first stories of the cartoon character Bécassine were published in the magazine. In addition, works by illustrators such as Édith Follet , René Follet , Maggie Salcedo , Chéri Hérouard , Georges Pichard and Henri de Sta could be seen. Short stories, such as those by Germaine Verdat and Marie-Anne Couderc , were later republished in the Bibliothèque de Suzette .
