The Laboratoire national de métrologie et d'essais (German National Laboratory for Metrology and Experiments ), formerly Laboratoire national d'essais ( LNE ), is the French equivalent of the German Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt . The LNE is an institute whose mission is to measure and test products of all types before they receive their certification for marketing. His tasks also include the coordination of metrology projects in France. The LNE was founded in 1901 and is now a state-owned company run as the Établissement public à caractère industriel et commercial (EPIC) (French status as a public institution with a commercial character).

The seat is in the 15th arrondissement of Paris .
