Laboratory technology

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lab equipment is in a laboratory used technical equipment, laboratory equipment and laboratory equipment.

Laboratory furniture

The laboratory equipment includes furniture according to the special requirements of the respective laboratory:

  • Tables with special worktops
  • Laboratory fume cupboards and vacuumed enclosures
  • Storage spaces and cupboards
  • Safety storage for chemicals
  • Media supply systems (media cells, media channels, media traffic lights or media columns suspended from the ceiling) for supplying workplaces and devices with electrical and sanitary connections (water, sewage, gases)

Laboratory planning

Laboratory planning deals with the planning of laboratory technology. It is a sub-area of supply technology (also referred to as building technology or technical equipment (TGA)). In Germany, the service profile of the fee schedule for architects and engineers applies (service profile technical equipment, plant group 7 (usage-specific systems and process engineering systems), costs of cost group 474 according to DIN 276 ).

Laboratory planning often goes beyond pure technical planning according to the performance profile described and includes the development of the requirements for use, based on the intended processes and procedures through to planning the laboratory workflows.

As a rule, consulting other planners (architect, supply engineer) with regard to the special requirements of laboratory use is also part of laboratory planning in construction projects.

Loose and solid laboratory equipment

For public-sector construction projects in Germany, a distinction is often made between loose and fixed laboratory equipment or laboratory technology, since different financing channels are usually provided here. The distinction between loose and fixed elements differs depending on the federal state and the responsible building administration; a binding basis is not known. Everything that is connected to the building and the building infrastructure (supply technology) as a permanent connection is usually regarded as fixed.
