The Lac Kir is a 1,964 artificial lake west of the city Dijon in the French region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté .
In 1965 the lake was named after the politician and canon Félix Kir . The mixed drink Kir , known for the region, was named after the same .

The lake extends over 37 hectares and has an average water depth of 3.5 meters. The TGV route to Dijon also passes near the north bank .
For visitors, Lac Kir can be reached by car via the D905 road or by public bus line B12. There is also a 25 km long bike path that leads south from Lac Kir.
free time activities
The Lac Kir is used by the residents of the region as a place of relaxation and retreat. Especially in the summer months, numerous tourists come to the place to go cycling, jogging or fishing.
In 2005 the Dijon Plage was built. From July to September you can swim or play beach volleyball here, for example .
In addition, around the lake there is a mini golf course, playgrounds for children, bike paths, as well as tennis courts and volleyball fields.
