Lachtal is a locality in the municipality of Oberwölz in Styria.

In the Lachtal, a valley northeast of Oberwölz, is located at the head of the valley at 1570  m above sea level. A. The weekend house settlement of the same name, which until the end of 2014 was part of the now dissolved community of Schönberg-Lachtal . Today, Lachtal is mainly known as a winter sports location where international competitions are held. The ski area has 25 km of slopes and 10 km of ski routes, which are accessed with two chair lifts and eight tow lifts . The Lachtalbach flowing through the valley drains over the Gföllbach and further over the Blahbach and the Pöls (section: Pölsfluss ) into the Mur .
