Lacquer sanding

With lacquer sanding (more precisely intermediate sanding ) the processing is lacquered surfaces by abrasive designated. As paints it different ways, as are acrylic paints , DD coatings, acid-curing paints, one- and two-component coatings used.

Therefore, in addition to different grinding technologies such as hand sanding and machine sanding, various types of abrasives in numerous designs and combinations are used.

Lacquer sanding technique

With a good sanding of the lacquer, the painter achieves a smooth surface, a uniform sanding pattern, a low sanding tolerance, a reduction in the amount of paint applied and a shortening of the polishing process. Is ground by hand (if necessary with sanding block or Handpad), with a hand-held machine (z. B. sander or random orbit sander) or with a stationary belt sander .

Sanding paper and abrasive cloth are used as abrasives , sheets, strips and disks, sanding grids as disks, abrasive pads and abrasive fleeces .

For the grinding technique, grit 40 to 80 is used for calibration , grit 100 to 180 for the preliminary sanding, grit 220 and 240 for the intermediate sanding and grit 320 to 3000 for the final sanding.
