Loops means:

  • a separating manufacturing process for shaping, sharpening or smoothing, see grinding (manufacturing process)
  • the removal, leveling, tearing down of buildings, see razing
  • the drill of recruits (soldier's language) or civilian persons, see formal service
    • In the 19th century, the testing and transfer of apprentices to the journeyman's class, for which a grinding fee was also charged (see also Gautschen )
