Lacus Perseverantiae - Latin for lake of perseverance - is a solidified lava lake on the moon , which is similar in origin to the larger Maria . The name was established by the International Astronomical Union in 1979.
The small sea area has a mean diameter of 70 kilometers and is located in the east of the moon side facing the earth at the selenographic coordinates 8 degrees north and 62 degrees east.
