The contact address referred to in the law, case law and legal literature a residence or a different address ( § 68 para. 2 sentence 1 Code of Criminal Procedure), where entrepreneurs a business address, by country, city, ZIP code and street, which is a postal address under which a right-wing party is actually to be found.

In legal transactions, the specification of a chargeable address is required in various contexts, for example in the imprint of a website according to § 5 Telemediengesetz or in the commercial register according to § 29 HGB , § 106 HGB, § 8 GmbHG and comparable regulations. This simplifies legal prosecution for business partners and consumers.

When bringing an action , according to § 130 ZPO, summonable addresses of all parties must be given. This enables the delivery of the action and simplifies the subsequent enforcement . Under certain circumstances, it is also sufficient to state the job, but not that of a PO box .
