Maria Lea Pedini Angelini

Maria Lea Pedini Angelini (born July 15, 1954 in San Marino ) is a San Marino politician. From April 1 to October 1, 1981, she was the first woman in the office of Capitano Reggente .

Life

She completed her studies at the University of Bologna in 1976 with a museographic work and participated in the inventory of the San-Marinese cultural assets. From 1983 to 2006 she was Head of the Office for Cultural Affairs and Information at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2006 she was Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then she headed the Department for European Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1995 she became ambassador of San Marino in Denmark, Sweden and Hungary - with a (cost and personnel-saving) residence in San Marino. In this role she was also the San Marino ambassador for Norway and Switzerland .

politics

Pedini Angelini was a member of the Consiglio Grande e Generale , the San Marinese parliament , from 1978 to 1993 . Until 1988 she belonged to the faction of the Partito Socialista Sammarinese (PPS), from 1988 to 1993 of the faction of the Partito Socialista Unitario - Intesa Socialista (PSU-IS). From April 1 to October 1, 1981 she was together with Gastone Pasolini Head of State of San Marino (Capitano Reggente).

Honors

  • Pedini was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic on March 3, 1998 .
  • Pedini was made a Knight of the French Legion of Honor in 2004.
  • In 2006, San Marino issued a special postage stamp in honor of Pedini.
