Lady Death

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lady Death is the main character in the comic strip of the same name by Brian Pulido . She had her first appearance in the Evil Ernie comic # 1, December 1991. The series has been published successively by the US publishers Chaos! Comics , CrossGen and Avatar Press . In 2004, a Lady Death animated film was also released. Your opponent is the demon Purgatori.

History of the original figure

Lady Death was in Sweden of the Middle Ages as the daughter of a nobleman named Matthias. At that time she was still called Hope. Her mother was a pure, innocent woman, but her father was a ruthless tyrant, and although he excelled in the Church's crusades against the Gentiles, he was secretly engaged in black magic and demonology, in fact he was descended from demons.

When her father's cruelty led to a peasant rebellion, Hope fell into the hands of the insurgents, but her father narrowly escaped. She was accused of witchcraft and sentenced to death by burning at the stake. In her distress she uttered an incantation that she had heard her father use, whereupon a demon appeared and offered her a bargain: he would save her from death if she served the powers of hell. She accepted and went to hell.

There she got caught up in the civil war between Lucifer and apostate devils, who were led by a powerful wizard - who turned out to be her father. In time, the evil of those around her spread to her and Hope became Lady Death. Later, Lady Death led an uprising against Lucifer, defeated him and became the new ruler of Hell, which many of the inhabitants of Hell saw as the beginning of the Apocalypse.

Medieval Lady Death

At CrossGen Comics, due to the legal situation, the new character Medieval Lady Death, with a similar appearance but a different history, was developed. This series can be classified under "medieval fantasy". The Lady Death at the later publisher Avatar Press also has little to do with the original.
