Lagoa do Carvão ( Portuguese 'Coal Lake') is a lake in Portugal on the Azores island of São Miguel in the Ponta Delgada district . The crater lake is located in the Serra Devassa at about 680 m above sea level at the foot of the northern slope of Pico do Carvão (813 m) and is about 0.6 ha in size. Its water is mesotrophic .
