Laika is a British alternative rock band formed in 1993 (founded by ex-Moonshake members Margaret Fiedler and John Frenett , and music producer / sound engineer Guy Fixsen ). The band was named after the bitch Laika , the first living creature to be purposefully transported into an orbit around the earth.

style

Musically, the band can be described as a mixture of avant-garde electronica and alternative.

Activities outside the band

In 2000 Margaret Fiedler played in PJ Harvey's touring band. She played guitar, cello and other instruments.
