Laima clock

The Laima clock ( Latvian Laimas pulkstenis ) is a clock in the Latvian capital Riga .

It is located on the eastern edge of Riga's old town, southwest of the Freedom Monument on Freedom Boulevard (Brīvības bulvaris in Latvian) on the corner of Aspasia Boulevard (Aspazijas bulvāris).

The clock was created in 1924 as a column about eight meters high. In the 1930s it was advertised by the Latvian confectionery manufacturer Laima . The clock was intended to ensure that workers were on time for their shift. Today the clock is a popular meeting place.
