Laimer triangle

The Laimer triangle is a differently pronounced muscular weak point in the back of the esophagus (dorsal) between the lower edge of the upper esophageal sphincter and the fibers of the esophageal muscles, which are mainly oriented lengthways and diverge upwards.

Above the upper esophageal sphincter is the Killian triangle .
