The Lake Aviemore is a 300 m long and 200 m wide lake on South Georgia in the South Atlantic . On the Barff Peninsula, it was located 0.5 km southwest of an old whaling depot on the banks of Godthul Bay .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2009 after the whaling ship SV Aviermore , which was the first whaler to operate from the station of the Norwegian Bryde & Dahls Hvalfangerselskab in Godthul from 1908 .
