The glenbawn dam is a dam in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales . The Hunter River is dammed there.

The associated dam is the largest earth dam in Australia.

The reservoir is located east of the town of Scone on the upper reaches of the river. The dam was completed in 1958.

The main purpose of the dam is to irrigate the agricultural areas in the area. It also regulates the water level in the Hunter River.

The reservoir is a popular fishing lake. You can fish from boats or from the bank.
