Lamé tip is a tip made mainly of fine, flat-rolled metal wires ( lamé ) . In addition to the Lamé, also flat yarn , Plätt or Matheidl called also be Lahn thread (Spreng Gold) and fine hemp strings processed in the tip. Oral is also the name of the Russian clapper hammer . In Germany, the term " Hohlspitze " has partly become established.

The Laméspitze is known from the Lake Constance Radhaube and other costumes hoods . But also in the Jewish culture of the 19th century one can find numerous examples, especially on priestly robes ( prayer shawl , hats, etc.); here the tip was called Shpanyer Arbet . After the Jews were expelled from Spain in the Middle Ages, they are said to have brought the technology to Russia.
