Lamdan

Lamdan ( Hebrew : למדן) or Lamden ( Yiddish ) is the name of a Jewish connoisseur of rabbinic literature who does not work professionally as a scholar. The term probably only came up in the 18th century. In the German-speaking world, Jews mostly used the Lamden variant .

Lamdan is also a common Jewish surname, especially in Israel .
