Lamin Hydara ran in the 2012 parliamentary election as a candidate for the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) in the Jarra Central constituency in the Mansa Konko Administrative Area . Since there was no opposing candidate from the opposition, he was able to win the constituency for himself. Hydara did not stand as a candidate for the 2017 parliamentary election .
