The state working group of locally regional providers of youth social work Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e. V. (LAG ÖRT MV) is the representative of the youth social work facilities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

The association was founded on October 5th, 1993. The 20 member companies are currently active at 45 locations in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. With their approx. 1110 employees (social pedagogues, teachers and trainers) they look after approx. 6070 participants in various measures and projects. (Status: December 2013) The LAG ÖRT MV eV is managed by a four-person board.

aims

The association wants to help develop and shape youth social work in the state and support and promote contacts between the individual organizations and their employees. The object of the work of the LAG ÖRT MV is the socio-educational, professional and economic support, but in particular also the promotion of training, further education and training of young people who for various reasons have difficulties accessing the labor market, as well as the promotion and care of open children's and youth leisure facilities as well as alternative forms of living for young people.

Youth professional assistance

For the vocational orientation of the students of the regional schools and grammar schools, projects of the early career orientation (BFO) or career orientation (BO) are developed and implemented. a. financed by the German Children's and Youth Foundation or the Federal Ministry of Education and Research ( BMBF ).

  • Vocational training in external institutions ( BaE ), which is financed by employment agencies or the job center .
  • Training-accompanying aids (abH) for those who are being trained in a recognized occupation in a company, language lessons, additional promotion of specialist practice and specialist theory and socio-educational support for the participants. These aids are intended to ensure that the participants do not drop out of their vocational training, but rather complete it successfully.
  • Integration projects for disadvantaged young people, migrants and other marginalized groups ; Competence agencies are supposed to provide assistance to those who cannot be reached by the usual assistance offers regarding the transition from school to working life.

International youth work

The association organizes youth exchanges for apprentices with various European countries, including z. E.g. Poland, France, Romania, Lithuania, Hungary, Sweden, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic. Youth exchanges, supported by the "Leonardo da Vinci" program, enable young people to complete their vocational training for a few weeks in a European country.

Cooperation and network partner

The association works at the state level with all those involved in youth social work and youth professional assistance. In addition to the cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture MV, the Ministry of Economic Affairs MV, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health MV and the LAGUS MV State Youth Welfare Office as well as the Regional Directorate North of the Federal Employment Agency, there are regular contacts to the regional employment agencies and the job centers -GE. At the federal level, the members of the LAG ÖRT MV are at the same time members of the Federal Working Group of local regional organizations for youth social work. V. (BAG ÖRT).
