State development company

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A state development company ( LEG ) is a corporation under public or private law whose task is the structural development and residential use of areas. Today's state development companies emerged from the public development companies of the federal states, most of which have been converted into corporations in the last 20 years .

aims

The main tasks of the state development agencies include the creation of affordable living space for families and the promotion of infrastructural underdeveloped areas. In recent years, when implementing these social and economic tasks, sociological, cultural and ecological aspects should also be increasingly taken into account and coordinated with one another.

organization

Due to its federal origin, at least one state development company is represented in each federal state. Some LEG have joined together to form interest groups.

The largest interest group is represented by the Federal Association of State and Urban Development Societies (BVLEG), in which, in addition to several LEGs, regional development companies are organized. In cooperation with the Friends of the State and Urban Development Associations, it awards the LEG Prize to young architects, urban and landscape planners.
