The State Funding Institute Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (LFI for short) is the central funding service provider of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for the promotion of investments and modernization in the field of economy and infrastructure. On behalf of the state, numerous funding programs are implemented by way of grant and loan funding. The focus is on the economy, housing and urban development, infrastructure, the environment and energy as well as agriculture and forestry.

Funding priorities
Business promotion
The promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises is also of particular importance in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, because competitive companies create new jobs and secure existing ones as well as increase overall income in the region. Through the LFI, the state supports companies that want to grow or set up shop with special offers. Funding programs are available, for example for investments, the development of new markets and participation in trade fairs.
Infrastructure promotion
Investments in a sustainable, efficient and modern infrastructure form the basis for achieving socio-political and economic goals in the country. In this way, projects by districts and municipalities, but also non-economically oriented projects by other non-profit organizations, are supported. The range of possible projects encompasses all of public life.
Housing and urban development funding
Funding priorities in the housing construction subsidy are both the qualitative improvement of the supply of housing with socially acceptable rents and the adaptation of the housing stock to demographic change. This includes measures such as the retrofitting of passenger elevators, the barrier-free conversion of existing residential properties or general modernization and repair.
The urban development provides a nationwide stable long-term initiative for the progressive elimination of urban ills including the use of European funding. The country is committed to the highest degree of achieving the goal of an integrated possible urban development and in parallel to the actual promotion of a long-term monitoring with suitable for this purpose and willing municipal partners.
Agricultural, forest and fisheries subsidies
The processing and marketing of products from agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture and the fishing ports are supported by programs such as market structure improvement and fisheries and fisheries. Energy and climate protection funding
The state supports investments in the use of renewable energies and sustainable increases in energy efficiency. The focus is particularly on innovative approaches to the energetic use of biomass and other renewable approaches to regional heat generation and distribution. Particular attention is also paid to the use of storage systems in both the heating and electricity sectors.
