The regional association of the Jewish communities of Lower Saxony Kdö.R is an association of Jewish communities in Lower Saxony . The more traditional regional association serves the state government and the state institutions in Lower Saxony as a point of contact for questions relating to the practice of Jewish religion . He is a member of the Central Council of Jews in Germany . One of the initiators of the association was Norbert Prager .

The state association is responsible for securing and looking after the orphaned Jewish cemeteries throughout Lower Saxony (provided they are not directly owned by a community); Approx. 232 Jewish cemeteries with a total area of ​​approx. 300 hectares are known in Lower Saxony.

On December 16, 1983, a law was passed on the State Treaty signed on June 28, 1983 in Hanover between the State of Lower Saxony and the State Association of the Jewish Communities of Lower Saxony. It stipulated a state benefit of DM 240,000 annually from 1983 onwards. On September 24, 2002, a law was passed on the contract signed on May 16, 2002 in Hanover to amend the said contract. In it, a change in the state performance of 689,000 euros for 2002 instead of 1,100,000 DM, 801,000 euros for 2003, 908,000 euros for 2004 and 1,020,000 euros for 2005 was determined.
