State Association of the Schleswig-Holstein Electoral Communities

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The State Association of Voter Communities Schleswig-Holstein (abbreviation WG-SH ) is the largest umbrella organization of voter communities in Schleswig-Holstein . The acting chairman is Norbert P. Hoppe.

Free voter groups have a long tradition in Schleswig-Holstein and are very successful at the local level. In the 2008 local elections, various groups of voters achieved the best results for groups of voters in Germany with 6784 seats and 51.8%, ahead of the CDU with 3400 seats and 26% and the SPD with 2141 seats and 16.4%.

The state association was founded in October 2008 under the name Landesverband Freie Wahlers Schleswig-Holstein e. V. founded. He was supposed to organize the various voter communities in Schleswig-Holstein and lobby outside of parliament. The association did not become a member of the Federal Association of Free Voters Germany . On February 11, 2012, the association was renamed the Schleswig-Holstein State Association of Voting Communities .

Participation in state and federal elections is controversial within the regional association. One of the reasons for the renaming was to avoid confusion with the Federal Association of Free Voters . In September 2008, the Free Voters Schleswig-Holstein party was founded independently of the association. It stood in the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein on September 27, 2009 and achieved 1.0% of the second vote. On January 1, 2012, the state party merged with the Federal Association of Free Voters.
