The rural municipality Pargas ( Swedish Pargas landskommun , Finnish Paraisten maalaiskunta ) is a former municipality in Finland . It lay in the archipelago off the coast of the Varsinais-Suomi region in southwest Finland . The rural community Pargas was established in 1948 when the main town Pargas was separated from the surrounding rural community as an independent market town ( köping / kauppala ).
