The Landhaus Glasewaldtstrasse 8 is a listed villa-like building. It is one of the “most remarkable buildings” on the street in Dresden - Striesen, named after the Dresden mayor Friedrich Glasewaldt .

description

The historic building was built in 1888 as one of the first buildings on Glasewaldtstrasse by order of the actress Charlotte Basté according to plans by Karl Emil Scherz . Several sayings adorn the facade.

The court actress and her family lived in the building until the First World War . A plaque on the house in memory of Basté was removed in the 1960s. Basté later lived in the immediate vicinity at Wägnerstrasse 18 .

After the renovation, the private day care center Villa Kindertraum is now in the building.
