Landsberg mix

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Landsberger Gemenge is an agricultural green fodder culture for medium to better soils that is sown in legumes - grass - mixed seeds . It usually consists of vetch ( Vicia villosa ) (21 kg / ha), incarnate clover ( Trifolium incarnátum ) (9 kg / ha) and Italian ryegrass ( Lolium multiflorum ) (30 kg / ha).

In addition to the production of feed, the mixture is also used to supply nitrogen and achieve other previous crop effects . Since the mixture does not clear the field until late (mid-May), only a few main crops can be considered as subsequent crops (see also field grass farming ). From the point of view of forage production, the raw protein yield is particularly high. The animals like to eat the mixture as long as the crimson clover does not bloom. Therefore, the best pruning start is at the bud stage of the crimson clover.

The plant-sociological stability of the Landsberger mixture depends on the mutual competitiveness of the species to be combined, in particular the non-legume. Low temperatures without a protective cover of snow lead to the loss of the crimson clover.
