The landscape protection area tree stock "Gut Kempe" is a landscape protection area in the district of Aurich in the state of Lower Saxony . It bears the number LSG AUR 00015.

Description of the area

The protected landscape area, designated in 1965, covers an area of ​​0.03 square kilometers and is located on the eastern edge of the village of Groothusen . The conservation area consists of a large park-like garden with a courtyard building (the Osterburg , which is managed by the Kempe family ), a lime tree avenue and Zingel (graft). The area is considered an invigorating structural element in the outskirts.

Flora and fauna

The landscape protection area is covered with various deciduous trees, some of them old, with a varied layer of shrubs and herbs. Some large trees are used by gray herons as eyrie trees. The area is also a valuable habitat for early bloomers, small mammals and small birds.
