The landscape protection area Borkebachtal with 56.7  hectares is located in the Märkischer Kreis in the area of ​​the town of Balve . It was designated for the first time in 1989 by the district council of the Märkisches Kreis with the landscape plan Balve - Mittleres Hönnetal as a landscape protection area (LSG) of type B (special landscape protection) with the name landscape protection area Borkebachtal northeast of Langenholthausen . In 2015, with the 2nd amendment to landscape plan No. 2 Balve-Mitteleres-Hönnetal, it was again designated. The LSG is located north of Langenholthausen and south of Balve. The LSG extends to the edge of the settlement and consists of two sub-areas.

Protection purpose
