The landscape protection area Bremer-, Banner- and Wamelbachsystem with 107  hectares is located in the municipality of Ense in the district of Soest . The area was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) by the district council in 2006 with the landscape plan V Ense-Wickede . The LSG is located west of Bremen . The LSG goes to the edge of the settlement. The nature reserve Bremer Bachaue divides the LSG into three parts. The Ruhrterrassen conservation area borders in the north and the Füchtener Heide / Fürstenberg conservation area in the south . TheBundesautobahn 45 delimits the LSG in the north-west.

The LSG covers the edge of the Bremer Bachtal. While Bannerbach and Wamelbach run within the LSG. Most of the grassland areas are located in the LSG. In the southwest, larger forest areas also belong to the LSG. Field trees, hedges, single trees and orchards are scattered in the LSG.

Protection purpose

As with other LSGs, the designation was carried out in the landscape plan area to maintain or restore the efficiency of the natural balance; because of the diversity, uniqueness or beauty of the landscape or because of its special importance for recreation.

For the LSG, the following was specifically listed as a protective purpose:

  • Particularly important as a networking corridor to the adjacent Ruhraue nature reserve (Soest district) , which is designated as an area particularly worthy of protection within the European Community within the framework of the Habitats Directive.
  • Equipment of the area with invigorating and structuring landscape elements such as rows of trees, fruit trees and field trees, the existing, often extensively used grassland and the near-natural forest areas.
  • The particular importance as a networking corridor in the biotope network system between Fürstenberg, Ruhrtal and Oevinghauser Wald.
  • the peculiarity and diversity of the landscape, which is richly endowed with natural deciduous forests, field trees, hedges, individual trees, fruit trees, watercourses and ditches as well as grassland areas close to the groundwater and the stratified springs east of the Bremer Heide and a former quarry.
  • High value for landscape-related local recreation.

Legal regulations

As in the other landscape protection areas in the landscape planning area, the LSG prohibits the construction of structures. The Lower Nature Conservation Authority can issue exceptional permits for buildings of all kinds. As in the other landscape protection areas, there is a prohibition in the LSG to plant Christmas trees , ornamental branches and tree nurseries . It is Z. B. also forbidden to remove or damage trees, bushes, hedges, field or riparian trees.
