The landscape protection area Briloner Kalkplateau and Randhöhen with 1657.78 hectares lies around Brilon . The area was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the landscape plan of the Brilon plateau . The landscape protection area was designated as LSG Type A, General Landscape Protection. Protection purpose

Regulations

As in the other type A landscape protection areas, the LSG prohibits building structures. Construction projects for horticulture, agriculture and forestry, the public supply of electricity, gas, telecommunications services, heat and water, wastewater management or an existing adjacent commercial operation are excluded from the ban ( Section 35 (1) No. 1 and 2 of the Building Code ). The construction of wind turbines and hydropower plants is also permitted with a building permit. Initial afforestation and the new planting of Christmas tree cultures, ornamental twigs and tree nursery cultures are subject to official approval from the Lower Nature Conservation Authority .
