Iserlohn nature reserve type A
The Iserlohn Type A landscape protection area with an area of 8,250 hectares is located in the Märkischer Kreis in the area of the city of Iserlohn . It was designated in 1997 by the district council of the Märkisches Kreis with the landscape plan No. 4 Iserlohn as a landscape protection area (LSG) of type A (general landscape protection). The LSG goes to the edge of the settlement.

The LSG covers large areas that are outside of the built-up area and other protected areas with stricter requirements. In the LSG there are mainly forest areas, grassland and fields. The forests mostly have spruce or beech trees.
Protection purpose
The designation was carried out to maintain, develop or restore the efficiency and functionality of the natural balance or the regenerative and sustainable usability of natural assets, including the protection of habitats and habitats. Also because of the diversity, character or beauty or the special cultural and historical importance of the landscape and because of its special importance for recreation.
Legal regulations
In the LSG, among other things, the erection of buildings is prohibited. Furthermore, first afforestation and the new planting of Christmas tree cultures, ornamental branches and tree nursery cultures outside the forest are prohibited.
