The Lichtenböcken landscape protection area with an area of ​​95.20  hectares is located in the urban district of Hagen , Berchum district , in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen. Parts of the landscape protection area are intended for residential and commercial areas. If a development plan becomes legally binding, these areas are no longer designated as a landscape protection area.

In the north, the LSG borders directly on the city limits of Schwerte and the Unna district . The Weischeid landscape protection area borders in the urban area of ​​Schwerte . In the east lies Berchum. In the west the A 45 and in the south built-up areas. In the LSG there are smaller forest areas and predominantly agricultural areas with fields and grassland.

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, the designation took place “because of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of the landscape, in particular because of the occurrence of valuable hedge structures and stepping stone biotopes with a refuge function”.
