description

In the LSG bird sanctuary Egge  , the parts of the bird sanctuary Egge are located in the landscape plan area which have not been designated as part of the nature reserve Marschallshagen and Nonnenholz with the upper Altenautal , Schwarzbachtal nature reserve and the Sauertal nature reserve. These are the Kleinenberger Wald , the Holtheimer Wald , Oberhagen , the eastern part of Marschallshagen , the Snow Fields Berg , the Hardehauser Busch , the Großer Nonnenbusch , the Schmiedebusch and the urban desert of Blankenrode .

LSG comprises the large and contiguous beech and mixed beech forests as well as the alder and ash forests along the stream and other forest formations with temporary and continuously flowing streams, dry valleys and spring areas. Numerous source brooks of the Kleinenberger Sauer arise in the area.

The forest is the breeding and feeding habitat of the black stork. In the LSG also breed the bird species Great Owl (Aegolius funereus), Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis), Hazel Grouse (Bonasa bonasia), Middle Woodpecker (Dendrocopos medius), Black Woodpecker (Dryocopus martius), Red-backed kite (Lanius collurio), Red Kite (Milvus milvus) Picus canus) and gray shrike (Lanius excubitor). In the breeding season between March 1st and August 31st, forestry measures and wood processing by firewood buyers in the area of nest protection zones of species of the bird protection directive are to be refrained from.

In order to optimize it, it is intended to convert softwood stocks into deciduous forests suitable for the location in the medium term. Suitable single trees or groups of trees should be developed into old wood islands and dead wood trees and cave trees should be preserved.

The landscape plan writes about forest management: "In the bird sanctuary, all measures, including forestry, are to be refrained from, which could lead to a deterioration in the conservation status of FFH habitat types and species of community interest according to the Habitats or Birds Directive."

The ground monument of the Blankenrode urban wasteland is located in the LSG .
