The landscape protection area west of the Priorei with an area of 860.19  hectares is located in the area of the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.

description

In the west and south, the Breckerfeld landscape protection area borders the urban area of Breckerfeld . In the north is the Eilper Berg / Langenberg conservation area . To the east lies the Brantenberg, Stapelberg and Muhlerohl nature reserves . The B 54 also runs along the eastern border.

In the LSG there are mainly forest areas with numerous springs and streams as well as around the agriculturally used areas near Kalthausen.

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, the designation was made “to maintain and restore the efficiency of the natural balance, in particular by securing a predominantly contiguous forest area with an important balancing function in terms of urban climate, because of the diversity, peculiarity and beauty of the landscape, the naturally developed forest areas with pronounced forest edges and because of the special importance of the Forest area and plateau for recreational use geared towards experiencing nature ”.

Special prohibitions in the LSG

In addition to the usual prohibitions in landscape protection areas in Hagen, special prohibitions have been issued for the LSG. In the LSG, it is forbidden to carry out additional drainage measures in the area and to convert grassland areas.
