The Breckerfeld landscape protection area with an area of 5046.39  ha is located in the area of the independent city of Breckerfeld in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1990 with the landscape plan for the Breckerfeld area by the district council of the Ennepe-Ruhr district . When the regional council changed the landscape plan for the Breckerfeld area in 2005 , the LSG remained in place.

description

The Breckerfeld landscape protection area includes all areas in the Breckerfeld urban area outside the built-up districts and the scope of a development plan , provided that there is no higher protection status such as a nature reserve (NSG). In the urban area, only the 3 ha Saure Epscheid nature reserve and the 9 ha nature reserve Tal der Ennepe have been designated. In the LSG are the Ennepetalsperre , the Glörtalsperre and the Heilenbecker dams , which were used for the water supply and to regulate the river of the Ruhr and are partly still used. The areas in the LSG are mostly fields, grassland and forests.
