The nature reserve Tal der Ennepe is a 9 hectare nature reserve (NSG) in the urban area of Breckerfeld in the Ennepe-Ruhr district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was identified in 2005 when the Breckerfeld landscape plan was changed by the district council of the Ennepe-Ruhr district. The NSG consists of two areas. The NSG has also been designated as part of the FFH area Ennepe below the dam (DE-4710-301) with an area of ​​60 ha since 2005 . In the urban area of Ennepetal , parts of the valley lie in the nature reserve Tal der Ennepe (Ennepetal) .

Area description

The NSG is the near-natural stream valley of the Ennepe with river floodplains north of the Ennepetalsperre . Here, the Ennepe is endowed with a high structural diversity of the river and the trees that accompany the banks for long stretches. Former hammer ponds of the iron processing industry serve as important amphibian habitats. Grassland areas with fallow land and wet and poor meadows are also in the NSG. There are species such as kingfisher and bullhead .
