The Maasbecke nature reserve is located in the area of the city of Hattingen in the Ennepe-Ruhr district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The nature reserve lies along the Maasbecke on the southern edge of the Hattingen district of Blankenstein .

meaning

The 10.6955 ha area has been designated as a nature reserve since 1995 under the identification EN-012 because of the rarity and special character of the Bachtal . The protection goal is the preservation of communities and habitats of wild, partly endangered plant and animal species, in particular wet meadows and fallow meadows along the stream with extensive stands of tall shrubs, steep slopes with well-structured woody plants and the restoration of a near-natural stream valley, especially west of the road "Im Vogelsang".
