meaning

The 50.9249 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve since 1991 under the identification EN-009 because of the rarity, special character and outstanding beauty of the forest and the brook valley . The protection goal is the preservation of communities and habitats of wild, partly endangered plant and animal species. These include in particular the forest biotope complex with oak stands in connection with a natural stream and marshy source zones of the Paasbach with an older alder border and tall herbaceous vegetation . The protection goal is also the restoration of the near-natural wetland complexes .
